The European Union has ordered more than 180 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, adapted for the Omicron variant, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Speaking to reporters after the European Council, Von der Leyen said EU leaders had triggered clauses in the contracts signed with vaccine manufacturers that allowed them to request the development of an adapted vaccine within 100 days.
