The 37-year-old driver who caused a serious accident yesterday in the South District in Plovdiv, in which a man, a woman and a 15-year-old girl were injured, has been detained. He turned himself in to the Fifth Police Department late Sunday night, accompanied by his father.
He explained that the incident happened after he had been drinking. Police said his drug test was also positive. A blood sample was taken for chemical analysis.
On Sunday morning, while overtaking another car on a crosswalk he hit the car, then broke a roadside tree, hit a pole, and finally stopped in the grass of a nearby garden. He managed to escape after the incident, and his two companions, aged 31 and 19, were captured by police shortly afterwards.
