Today the deputies from the 47th National Assembly took the oath. The first sitting began at 9 am in the old parliament building. It was opened by the oldest member of parliament present. This time it is Dr. Sylvie Kirilov from "There is such a people".
Traditionally, at the first sitting of the newly elected parliament, statements are made by representatives of the parties and coalitions represented in the National Assembly. After that, the chairman of the 47th National Assembly will be elected. The chair will chair the meeting and give the floor. The deputies will also elect the deputy chairmen of the parliament.
The sitting is attended by President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Yotova, as well as the Prime Minister Stefan Yanev and members of the caretaker government. Representatives of the Constitutional Court, the judiciary, various state institutions, the diplomatic corps and the religions registered in the country have been invited. The previous presidents and chairmen of the National Assembly were also invited to be guests at the first sitting.
