International Youth Festival of Watercolor

This year's International Youth Watercolor Festival with two exhibitions at the City Art Gallery

From July 7 to 11, 2022, Plovdiv will host the second edition of the International Youth Watercolor Festival, organized by the International Watercolor Society - Bulgaria (IWS - Bulgaria) with curator Selma Todorova.

This year, the host of the exhibitions with more than 160 selected works is the City Art Gallery with its two exhibition spaces.

On July 7 (Thursday) at 18:00 in the Kapana Gallery (Raiko Daskalov Street), the foreign exhibition will be opened. An international jury composed of: Ali Abbas - Pakistan, Jansen Chow - Malaysia, Miran Kim - Korea, Nicolas Lopez - Peru and Richard Chao - Australia selected 120 authors aged 14 to 35 from 20 countries. 34 were nominated, and among them 16 were awarded. All awarded authors will be announced at a solemn ceremony, where the catalog from the event will also be presented.

On July 8 (Friday) at 6:00 p.m. in the Temporary Exhibition Halls ("Knyaz Aleksandar I" Street #15) the accompanying exhibition "Masters of Watercolor in Bulgaria" dedicated to the 10th anniversary of IWS GLOBE will be opened.

Both exhibitions will run until July 26, 2022.

During the days of the festival, demonstrations of masters and young artists - live and recorded especially for the event from different parts of the world - will be held in the "Kapana" gallery.

There will be a collective painting of a 20-meter watercolor outdoors in the courtyard of the National Art Gallery "Tsanko Lavrenov". The guests of the festival will paint in different places in the city.
