Alexander Hristev, a Frenchman with Bulgarian roots, opens tomorrow an exhibition entitled "A Walk through Paris" in the "Plovdiv" gallery in the building of the Municipal Council - Plovdiv at 20 Avksentiy Veleshki Street. This is the third visit to Plovdiv of the extremely talented artist. The previous two exhibitions were in the Ethnographic Museum and in the Balaban House in the Old Town. A society of Plovdiv artists invites you tomorrow - July 7, at 6:00 p.m., on a magnificent trip through Paris, transformed with a lot of French chic and beauty. The place is in the "Plovdiv" gallery in the building of the Municipal Council - Plovdiv at 20 Avksentiy Veleshki Street.
Alexander Hristev was born on September 6, 1976 in Paris, France. His father received French citizenship on his mother's side and settled in the French capital in 1965. Alexander's childhood was carefree in a French-Bulgarian family atmosphere.
The cheerful vacation days spent at Grandma Ani's in Plovdiv, in Koprivshtitsa, along the Black Sea coast left lasting traces in the little boy's soul.
Alexander's love for drawing awakened from early childhood. He inherited the talent of drawing from his father, and in his home he is surrounded by books with biographies and albums with reproductions of famous artists. His parents were regular visitors to art exhibitions in Paris and other cities in Europe, and Alexander accompanied them from an early age.
At the age of 6, he began his first drawing courses at the School of Fine Arts in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Obsessed with the classical philosophy of education, as a sure path to a successful future, his parents decided that he should be a student in renowned private schools in Paris, which Alexander remembers with unflattering feelings about the years he spent there. He doesn't resist, goes to school, studies minimally, draws during school hours, his notebooks are filled with drawings instead of notes from the lessons. Drawing courses continue.
For his parents, this is an additional activity, and for him - happy hours, in which he chooses his path and will defend it at the cost of many difficulties and persistence. School performance is mediocre, and feedback from drawing courses is very encouraging.
After college, with the consent of his parents, Alexander entered a private school with a light program, which allowed him to pursue the desired drawing and painting courses "de la Ville Paris" and Atelier La Grand Chaumière in Paris.
In 1999, he was admitted to the renowned Sorinas school of artistic and technical drawing in Paris, which was founded in 1880.
Solo exhibitions: 2004 at the town hall of Saint Mande Paris; 2017-2019 in Chirpan; 2018 at Galerie des Arts Graphique Paris; 2019 - art exhibition in the Balaban House in Plovdiv, 2021 - in the Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv.
Group exhibitions: 2015 and 2017 at the Salon of Young Artists in Paris; 2018 - art exhibition of the Lyon Paris International Club.
