The three candidates for "Continuing the Change", who were announced to have been collaborators with the State Security or the communist military intelligence - Vasil Sabev, Ercan Ahmed and Toma Tomov - deny being part of these structures. Despite their position, they have decided to withdraw from the election campaign "so as not to harm" the party. This became clear from a circular message from the party.

The message is being issued after an inspection of the Dossier Commission showed that total of 57 people who were employees or collaborators of the former State Security or communist military intelligence were nominated as members of parliament in the November elections. They are part of the lists of a total of 18 parties and coalitions, desebg.com reported.

Among the 2,065 candidates that were checked, the party with the most people part of the services of the former repressive body are those from the BSP - a total of 18 people. Among them are the names of Tasko Ermenkov, Rumen Gechev and Valentin Zayakov.

The MRF, the "Patriotic Front coalition" and the "Russophiles for the Revival of the Fatherland" have five candidates each. Among the most famous figures on the list is Ramadan Atalay.

GERB-UDF, "Continuing the Change" (PP), Ataka, VMRO-BND and "Volya" have three former agents in their lists. From the party of the former rulers are Georgi Vdovichin, Ivan Koinarski and Stefan Dedev.
