Оne of the busiest roads in the country The Pass of the Republic, which connects North and South Bulgaria, remains closed, despite the expectation that traffic will be released from Monday. The repairs will be extended until November 11.
"The reason for the delay in the roadworks is the heavy rains during the past weeks. It lasted about 10 days, which stopped all kinds of works", explained the director of the regional "Road Administration" Eng. Ventsislav Angelov.
The cars will be redirected through the Shipka pass, and the trucks - through the Shumen - Karnobat road (Rishki pass) and the Omurtag - Kotel road (Kotlenski pass).
